1. Indianapolis Cultural Trail
The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is a popular pedestrian trail that loops around downtown Indianapolis. The trail is connected to other popular Indianapolis trails like the Monon Trail and the White River Trail. It is also a great walking or biking option for anyone looking to explore downtown Indianapolis because of its proximity to amazing downtown attractions such as the historic Fountain Square, Mass Ave District, the Downtown Canal, the White River State Park, and the Indiana State Museum.
2. Monon Trail
The Monon trail stretches from downtown Indianapolis to Hamilton County. It is a popular pedestrian and bike friendly trail that takes you through the some great Central Indiana cities like Indianapolis, Carmel, Westfield, and Sheridan. There are plenty of great neighborhoods and art/entertainment districts to stop and visit along the trail.
3. Fall Creek Trail
The Fall Creek Trail intersects with the Central Canal Trail on the west side of Indianapolis. The trail mostly runs along Fall Creek River to the east side of Indianapolis and connects you to 2 great parks: Fort Harrison State Park and Skiles Test Nature Park. This is a very scenic trail that that takes you through different parts of Indianapolis.
4. Central Canal Trail
The Central Canal Trail stretches from Riverside Park on the west side of Indianapolis, all the way to the Monon Trail in the neighborhood of Broad Ripple where you will find great food, drink, and entertainment options. The Central Canal trail mostly runs along White River and it also takes you through some great places such Butler University and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
5. White River Trail
The White River Trail is a pedestrian and bike friendly trail that goes along the White River in Indianapolis. The trail also takes you through some amazing places in Central Indiana such as Riverside park, The AMP at 16 Tech, the Indianapolis Zoo, White River State Park, and Back 9 Golf.
6. Pennsy Trail
The Pennsy Trail is a pedestrian and bike friendly trail on the east side of Indianapolis. The trail exposes you to different parts of the east side including areas like the historic Irvington district, Warren township, and the town of Cumberland.
7. Pleasant Run Trail
The Pleasant Run Trail is mostly pedestrian and bike friendly. The trail starts at Garfield park and mostly follows the pleasant run stream further east through Christian Park and it goes all the way to Ellenberger Park near the historic Irvington district.
8. Buck Creek Trail
Buck Creek Trail is part of the Cumberland Trail System on the far east side of Indianapolis. The winding trail goes past beautiful farmland, Lions Park, and other great nature filled views on the east side of Indianapolis. The southern end of the Buck Creek Trail is connected to the Pennsy Trail which also happens to be part of the Cumberland Trail System.
