Walking trails near South Bend Mishawaka
1. Mishawaka Riverwalk
Mishawaka River Walk is one of the most beautiful riverfront walks along the St Joseph River. The riverwalk is accessible from downtown Mishawaka where you will find great local dining options. As you walk or bike allong the riverwalk, you will also go through some wonderful Mishawaka parks such as Kamm Island Park, Battel Park, and Central Park.
2. East Bank Trail
The East Bank trail in South Bend runs north and south along the St Joseph River. This scenic trail is connected to some great parks like Howard Park and Governor Joseph Kernan Park. The south end of the trail also connects to the Northside trail.
3. University of Notre Dame Tour
The University of Notre Dame is a private Catholic research university in Notre Dame, Indiana, outside the city of South Bend. The university has a beautiful history which is clearly showcased in the architecture and sculptures all over the campus. Popular sites in this campus include the Golden Dome, Main Quad, The Word of Life Mural, and many other sites.
4. Riverside Trail
The South Bend Riverside trail runs south and north between Angela Blvd and Darden Rd along the St Joseph River. The riverwalk trail also takes you past some wonderful South Bend parks such as Wheelock Park, Pinhook Park, Woodlawn Park, and Kellar Park. If you are in need of an extra workout, the trail also includes workout machines along the way. There is a connecter bridge (Darden bridge) on the north end of the riverwalk trail that connects to the LaSalle Trail which goes all the way to Niles Michigan.
5. Northside Trail
The Northside trail in South Bend runs east and west along the St Joseph River on Northside Blvd. Indiana University South Bend Campus is on the west of the trail and the east end of the trail will connect you to the East Bank trail.
